Mr. Tay Kim Yam

Mr. Kim Yam, TAY was previously Head of Group Technology & Operations Risk Management and Head of Corporate Business Continuity Management at a leading financial institution headquartered in Singapore. He was responsible for ensuring business continuity resilience for entities operating in Singapore, Hong Kong and more than 10 other overseas locations. As an experienced, hands-on BCM practitioner who had successfully implemented BCM programs, including crisis management exercises at top management and operating levels, Kim Yam was able to lead his team to deal with business continuity-threatening situations such as SARS outbreak in 2003, avian flu outbreak in 2005, IMF-World Bank SPORE meet in 2006 and many others. During his tenure and through his leadership, his team had won recognition, accolades and awards for designing and adopting leading BCM practices, including clinching the top spot in an industry benchmarking exercise for BCM readiness. With a passion to share his experiences and knowledge, Kim Yam is a frequent speaker in regional BCM conferences and was a member of the panel of advisors on the Global IMF Flu Pandemic taskforce.
